PROGRAM NOTES:

Scherzo is a cartoon; it’s a playful piece that celebrates play and the inner child. As its title implies, it’s a light joke, and I had a lot of fun writing it. Most of my work is pretty serious and solemn, and to try and focus on creating something that’s meant to induce giggles and foot tapping, as well as something that becomes borderline self-parody was an interesting exercise.
